Congratulations to Carina Chung-Yu Wen, a former Grade 12 learner from St Andrew's School for Girls in Bedfordview for achieving the following results during the 2020 IEB final matric examinations:
9 subject A's in Advanced Programme Mathematics, English, Geography, IsiZulu, Life Orientation, Life Sciences, Mandarin, Mathematics and Physical Sciences;
IEB Top 1% in Geography; and
IEB Commendable Achievement List (ranked within the Top 5% of students nationally in 5 subjects and achieved 80% or more in Life Orientation).

Fondest school memory: "My fondest memories at St Andrew's are the relationships that I have formed with friends and life-changing teachers that allowed me to realise my full potential from receiving my very first academic achievement to growing into the person I am today."
Greatest skill learned: "The greatest skill I have learned from St Andrew’s is the ability to understand that everyone is different and that we are all a sisterhood that needs to support each other."
Advice for younger learners:"To the younger girls at St Andrew’s my words of wisdom to you are that you are able to achieve anything you want once you set your mind to it and that you must treasure every moment as it goes by so fast."

Recent awards: "2nd Round of the 2020 Mathematics Olympiad. Full colours for First Aid. Representing St John South African team and winning the International Cadet Competition in Cape Town, placing us first in the world for for first aid."
Fondest school memory: "My fondest memory at St Andrew’s is getting the chance to travel to Spain to walk the Camino."
Greatest skill learned: "St Andrew’s has taught me the ability to always see the positive side of things."
Advice for younger learners: "Words of advice I would give to the younger girls at St Andrew’s would be to just breathe, it's not as daunting as it all seems. And there are probably a lot of people feeling just as stressed as you are."

Advice for younger learners: "My advice to the younger St Andrew’s girls would be to not take life so hard because you will become stressed, so just live once in a while and be carefree."
