IEB Matric (2019) - 9 Distinctions

Congratulations to Jing Zhang, a former Grade 12 learner from St Andrew's School for Girls in Bedfordview for achieving the following results during the 2019 IEB final matric examinations:

  • 9 subject A's in English, Afrikaans, Life Orientation, Mathematics, Accounting, Geography, Physical Science, Advanced Programme Mathematics and Mandarin;

  • IEB Top 1% in Mathematics, Geography, Advanced Programme Mathematics and Mandarin; and

  • IEB Outstanding Achievement List (ranked within the Top 5% of students nationally in 6 or more subjects and achieved 80% or more in Life Orientation).

Congratulations to St Andrew's School for Girl learner Jing Zhang for placing first nationally in the Grade 10 and 11 categories of the annual University of Johannesburg: Finance and Investment Management Olympiad (UJFIMO) for 2017 and 2018 respectively.

She also reached the third and final rounds of the annual Mathematics Olympiad and was awarded a certificate for being ranked within the Top 1% of learners in the 2017 Grade 10 IeBT Problem Solving assessment.

Head of orchestra

Proud of Jing Zhang for being appointed St Andrew's School for Girls' Head of orchestra for 2019 and awarded the Paolo de Grandis trophy for her contribution to orchestra Cultural Award during their annual Senior Speech Night.

She also passed both her Trinity College of London Piano (Grade 8) and Theory of Music (Grade 6) examinations with distinctions during 2015.
