Proud of the success of three former Crawford International Grade 12 students below during their 2020 IEB matric final examinations and helping their respective schools obtain a 100% pass rate.

Congratulations to Garth Chungyu Ngoi for achieving 7 subject A's with an average of 86,08% in English, Afrikaans, Mathematics, Geography, Information Technology, Life Orientation, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Advanced Programme Mathematics and Music, finishing in the Top 1% nationally in Life Orientation and Crawford International Lonehill's Top 10 achievers.
In July 2019 he received his White honours blazer, the highest award that can be bestowed on a Crawford student in recognition of achieving at least three Senior Full colours across Academics, Sport, Cultural and Service.
“Graduating this year was a feat in itself, but still with it comes the same emotions as every other year. I feel excited about graduating; finally moving out the house, getting into the real world, and beginning a new chapter in my life. Yet there’s a part of me that feels sad and overwhelmed because everything happens so quickly, and my entire high school career went by in a flash, but all the special moments will be with me forever.”
The National Eisteddfod Academy (NEA) 2017 Awards Grade 8 solo piano quarter finalist said Covid-19 brought all his relationships in life closer. “I’m grateful for the time with friends and family. I have the greatest group of friends and the most amazing parents, Takho Ngoi and Kuei-Hua Ngoi, that supported and motivated me each step of way. They were always willing to help me and prepared to checked up on my well-being. I am forever grateful for each and every one of them and what they have done for me during this challenging year.”
The 2019 / 2020 College Student Executive leader expressed the following advice to his peers: “Class of 2021, study, prepare and work hard to achieve the results you want at the end of the year, but also enjoy the crazy ride that is matric. Don’t overwork yourselves, make sure you stay healthy, and check up on friends and help them if needed. Matric is not easy, but class of 2021 that doesn’t mean you need to spend every second studying, you need to relax and go out with friends every now and then. So, class of 2021 work hard, relax and just enjoy matric because I’m sure you guys will do amazingly well. We look forward seeing you on the other side.”
Garth's brother (Anthony Ngoi, Class of 2014, 10 distinctions) and sister (Guenivere Ngoi, Class of 2018, 8 distinctions, 85,77% average) are both studying Medicine at the University of Cape Town (UCT).
Good luck following in their footsteps, specialising as a neurosurgeon and opening a hospital for underprivileged families that cannot afford proper healthcare in South Africa!

Well done to Si Teng Wu for earning 6 distinctions at an 85,15% aggregate in English, Afrikaans, Mathematics, History, Information Technology, Life Orientation , Physical Science and Advanced Programme Mathematics and placing seventh within Crawford International North Coast's Top 10 matriculants.
He was well-known as the main man behind the scene of every school event, working in the sound box since Grade 8 and the sound crew and staff alike were reliant on his efficiency and ability to remain calm under pressure. He was the recipient of the first awarded White Blazer of 2020.
“I’m really happy that I made it and excited that I get to dive into the next part of my life. I’m also a bit sad because I really loved high school and I will miss all the fun I had.”
The Student Leadership Body and Judiciary member stated that it feels amazing however surreal to matriculate and the most helpful things the Coronavirus pandemic did for him was extend the time he had to prepare for finals. “The year allowed me to dedicate myself to my studies and to spend more time with my parents and exempt me from writing the NBTs for my chosen university.”
The first team hockey and touch rugby member's advice for the Class of 2021: “Don’t hold back. Not now and not ever. Try your absolute best at everything you do and you will be both proud and happy with your achievements. I wish you the best of luck.”
All the best studying a BSc (Eng) degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at UCT and ultimately complete a PhD!

Anwell Ho is also commended for attaining 6 distinctions in Mathematics, Information Technology, Life Orientation, Physical Science, Advanced Programme Mathematics and Music at an 85% average and making Crawford International Pretoria's Top 10 achievers.
He was selected by the University of Pretoria to represent Gauteng North in the 2019 ASSA South African Mathematics Team Competition.
