Shining of Huaxing Chinese Culture Festival

Thank you to Cape Town HuaXing Arts Group, for proudly hosting the inaugural ‘Shining of Huaxing Chinese Culture Festival’ at the Lourensford Wine Estate’s Twilight Market in Somerset West on Friday 29th March 2019.

M.J. Li's students to showcase their Kung Fu and Tai Chi skills (Read more here); and
Confucius Institute of Stellenbosch University (CISU) staff and members to demonstrate traditional paper-cutting, calligraphy and other arts and crafts (Read further here and here).

Over 6,000 visitors enjoyed six acts covering the whole market space throughout the evening, including Ansai waist and Xing Shi drumming, fan and flower dancers, Beijing opera, Qipao show, martial arts demonstrations, lion and dragon dancing. Extra stalls selling traditional Chinese tea, food and clothing were also open.
