Getting engaged or married? Looking for a photographer?

Contact Dillon Kin Photography for gorgeous portrait, engagement and wedding photos. We recently interviewed the owner Dillon Kin to hear about his business and how he got into photography.

1. When did you start your business, and why?

  • I started my business in 2013 when I moved to Cape Town. I bought an entry level camera and started photographing everything. Eventually friends asked me to do engagement shoots. I really fell in love with photographing portraits and people and so I started offering my services as a wedding and portrait photographer.

2. What does your business do? What do you specialise in?

  • I am a wedding and portrait photographer based in Cape Town. I specialise in weddings and my style has a timeless and romantic feel. I often shoot with film cameras because I find film beautiful and organic.

3. What is your business's biggest achievement?

  • Being features in June Bug Weddings (an international wedding website) as well as in Wedding Album magazine.

4. What is your business's biggest challenge?

  • Marketing and finding clients. I believe I have a unique style but haven’t put too much effort into marketing.

5. Why are you proud of your business?

  • I get to capture real authentic moments that people can treasure forever.

6. How can people contact you?

  • We have a website, Instagram, Facebook page and we’re available via e-mail on hello@dillonkin.com. We love meeting people so contact us so we can meet and chat over a good cup of coffee!

7. Is there anything that you'd like to share?

  • Photographs are so important, they document a time in our lives at a certain point. It’s like a time capsule. When you’re choosing a photographer for your wedding or portrait session, make sure that their work looks timeless and will still look good 50 years later. I think that’s what I strive for in my photography. To create images that will stand the test of time. That’s also why I don’t do cheesy posed shots. I always aim to capture authentic moments.
