Managing Sandton's improvements
Good Samaritans
Well done to Elaine Jack, City Improvement District (CID) Manager of the Sandton Central Management District (SCMD), two of the sixty four public safety ambassadors and their logistics manager for providing continued assistance to an injured motorbike rider, involved in a potentially fatal head-on collision last month.
Thank you Elaine, for all you’re doing to make SA’s financial hub a more safe and accessible public space for all to enjoy.

Encouraging healthy lifestyles
Thank you to Elaine Jack (SCMD's CID manager) for encouraging all to participate in free and safe weekly timed runs (2.5km or double-loop 5km routes) organised by MyRun at Innesfree Park in Sandton Central, starting at 8am every Sunday morning.

Managing emergencies
Well done to to Elaine Jack (CID manager for SCMD) for co-ordinating efforts to evacuate staff from Ernest & Young and Alexander Forbes buildings, close roads and divert traffic flow and to allow JMPD and SAPS bomb squads to investigate a bomb threat on Monday, 25th March 2019.

2018 highlights
Thank you to Elaine Jack (CID manager) and Sandton Central Management District for sharing some of their achievements during 2018, including:
Greater office space constructed (The Marc, 92 Rivonia Road);
Hosting events (Mandela Centenary celebrations, iMadiba Project, BRICS Summit);
Improved public transportation and roads;
Better community safety support by Vumacam surveillance cameras; and
Support strategic sustainability through separation-at-source strategies;
She also attended the Africa Innovation Summit (AIS), held in Kigali (Rwanda), to share her unique insights on effective urban management.

Traffic signals for the visually impaired
Well done to Elaine Jack (CID manager) and SCMD for sponsoring uninterrupted power supply (UPS) units and introducing sensory pedestrian crossing traffic signals (providing sound alerts and push buttons) for the visually impaired at several key intersections in the Sandton CBD.

Providing resources for tourists
Thank you to Elaine Jack (SCMD's CID manager) for opening the ‘New Sandton Central JHB Tourism Visitors Information Centre at Nelson Mandela Square and introducing official Ambassadors or ‘Men in Red’ at some of the most visited places within Sandton CBD.

New public transportation lane introduced

Improving commuting
