Congratulations to Peng-Chen (Leah) Liang, a former Prefect at Hudson Park High School (HPHS) in East London, for obtaining 9 subject A’s during the 2018 final NSC matric examinations with the following results:
Mathematics: 100%;
Physical Science: 97%;
Accounting: 95%;
Life Orientation: 93%;
Advanced Programme Mathematics: 92%;
Life Sciences: 92%;
Music: 89%;
English:82%; and
Afrikaans: 81%.
The grade 12 learner was awarded Honours cum Laude for Academics, having achieved a 91% average in her June examinations, during the Academics Awards Assembly held in the third term.

At this year’s East London Port Rex Lions Eisteddfod, she and Ting-I (Jason) Liang received the ‘Special Mention Award’ and ‘Adri Samuels Medal for the Best Piano Ensemble’ and she was also a member of the HPHS Jazz Band that won the ‘Gold Award’ and ‘Contemporary Section Medal for the Best High School Ensemble’.
Well done also to Wesley Wong, the HPHS Head Of Music, for successfully guiding all his students to realise their musical potential.
