1. When did you start your business, and why?
Our business was started by Yu Kai Ho & Jenny Ho after they immigrated to Durban. It has been running since 1991 with our first restaurant opened in Southway mall. Our business has been running for 26 years.
2. What does your business do? What do you specialise in?
We make delicious Cantonese food from the freshest ingredients that we can find. Our famous dishes include plum source duck, garlic pork, traditional Chinese soup and Chow Mein.
3. Where does your business operate?
We operate in the Gateway Mall in Umhlanga, Durban.
4. What is your business's biggest achievement?
Our biggest achievement is that we have customers that love our food. It gives us a sense of achievement. We love to hear compliments for our food.
5. What is your business' biggest challenge?
Our biggest challenge is training our staff as Chinese food requires more skill to make.
6. Why are you proud of your business?
We are passionate about our food. We invent new recipes and customise the food to the customer’s taste.
7. Why are you a proudly South African business?
South Africa provides us with the opportunity to do our business. We are very proud to be South African. One of our staff has been with me for 25 years.
